Provençal Peacefulness & Striking out Solo

image

The last four days have been spent relaxing in a tiny hilltop town in the South of France, hiking in the nearby mountains and relaxing on the patio with a book (or five).

The setting could not have been more peaceful – a quiet retreat from the outside world, perfect for resetting and grounding.

Our hosts were wonderfully kind, and it was wonderful to speak French again – amazing how a place so foreign can feel like home, thanks to a familiar language and culture and warm, welcoming people.

I was sorry to leave, but {due to unforeseen circumstances} I am now striking out on my own a day early, taking the extra time to get organized and rested before heading out to Romania tomorrow.

À bientôt, France….

…and watch out, world, here I come!

  1. Really happy to be getting this blog. We just got back from California and are heading for Europe in a week. First stop is Ljubljianka. (I hope that’s the right number of j’s.)
